Prevent Sunlight From Damaging Your Tea

Displaying teas has always been something that can attract your customer’s attention, their imagination and often sparks their desire to try something new. Of course, in order for your tea display to be effective it needs to be of a reasonable size and glass jars are a great way to do this however the only down side to this arrangement is that whilst normal glass does its job to display your tea, it also allows light to get to your tea and that can be a problem.
We’re all aware of the issues surrounding light fading colour and indeed this would happen with your teas over time, however more quickly than the visual is the chemical reaction that happens when light interacts with tea leaves. This interaction will actually change the chemical structure of the leaves causing a degradation in flavour often described as a ‘metallic’ flavour.
So, we wanted to find a way to help you both display your teas to promote sales, but at the same time protect them. After some months of research and working closely testing finishes with a specialist British company, we are pleased to introduce our range of airtight, UV coated Kilner Jars. The special coating is applied to the outside of the Kilner jar so it doesn’t come into contact with the tea and does not wash or wear off so your Jar can be cleaned and recycled when required. Your teas can be easily seen and you can create attractive tea displays safe in the knowledge your premium quality teas are protected in the jars.
Wherever possible keep the jars as full as you can – this way there is less ambient air in the Jar with your teas which in turn will also help keep them fresher for longer too.
The Jenier UV Coated Kilner Jars measurements are as follows: Height 230mm x 100mm Square
