Whilst the word 'chai' is a name given to tea in Hindi, Western culture recognises the word 'chai' to be tea blended with spices. Many Chai Tea recipes have been passed from generation to generation so there is no fixed recipe, or preparation method, but most involve using a good strong base tea, spices such as cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, pepper and cloves with milk and sweetener.
