Blooming teas, also known as Artisan, Flowering or Display teas comprise of tea leaves hand sewn together around a single flower or sometimes several. The leaves and flowers are subsequently dried and form pod like shapes. The ancient art of creating Blooming Teas has been practised in China and dates back to the Song Dynasty, where these beautiful blooming teas would more likely to have been used as display teas. Recently, blooming teas have been made from higher quality tea leaves and flowers ensuring the teas can be enjoyed both for their magnificent display and taste.
