Traditional Lapsang Souchong brings an unmistakably bold, comforting presence to hospitality beverage menus, celebrated worldwide for its distinctive aroma of open oak fires and sweet pine embers. For boutique hotels, traditional afternoon tea parlours, and country estate lounges, this storied Chinese black tea offers guests a richly atmospheric cup that pairs effortlessly with savoury fare.
Grown high in the Wuyi Mountains of China’s Fujian Province between 1,500 and 4,900 feet, the tea is produced from mature early-May souchong leaves. The traditional artisan manufacture—involving indoor withering, initial hand-rolling, bamboo basket fermentation, high-heat pan-frying, and extensive smoking over burning pine fires—imbues the thick, glossy leaves with a deep amber-red liquor characterised by smooth, sweet resinous notes rather than harsh astringency.
Containing medium caffeine levels, our pyramid tea bags contain the exact same whole-leaf tea as our loose-leaf format, pre-measured to deliver consistent flavour and speed up front-of-house service. Crafted from 100% plant-based, industrially compostable woven PLA mesh, each spacious pyramid allows boiling water to circulate freely around the expanding leaves, providing single-cup portion control without sacrificing authentic teapot quality.

SMOKY BUT TASTY
I'd heard about Lapsang Souchong tea, and thanks to Jenier, I finally had the chance to try it. The flavor is certainly distinctive, with a strong smoky wood note that might not be everyone's cup of tea, but after a few sips, I began to appreciate it more and more. As always, the quality of the product is excellent.

Lapsang Souchong tea bags - great taste!
I was so relieved to find Jenier's Lapsang souchong tea bags after struggling to get the taste I was used to with other brands. I was not disappointed! Easy ordering, fast delivery and above all, the tea had flavour! Will buy again.
