People who like a milder mint flavour than peppermint will love spearmint tea. It's simple, naturally sweet, and a refreshing caffeine-free alternative. The spearmint plant's dried leaves are very similar to peppermint in appearance. We place the loose spearmint leaves into 100% compostable and plastic-free pyramid tea bags for a convenient way for you to infuse and enjoy.
Peppermint vs. Spearmint
The amount of menthol in spearmint and peppermint is what makes them different. Peppermint has more menthol than spearmint, so spearmint tastes cooler and less intense. Because of this, spearmint is a valuable herb that can be used in many different recipes and herbal teas without being too strong. Peppermint has more menthol than other flavours, making its flavour stronger and more noticeable. It is often used in toothpaste and chewing gum for its cooling effects. Fresh spearmint leaves (also known as garden mint) are easy to spot because the tips of their leaves are sharp and look like spears.
Many Ways to Use Spearmint
Spearmint has been grown for a long time for its minty aroma and is reported to help with health problems. In addition to being used in cooking and tea, spearmint oil is used in aromatherapy, skin care products, and even insecticides because it naturally keeps bugs away. It can also be used in the kitchen to add a hint of freshness to salads, jellies, and sauces, as well as to spirits and drinks.
Reported Health Benefits of Spearmint
People often say spearmint is good for digestion because it can help with nausea and indigestion. But it may also be good for your health in other ways:
Hormonal Balance: Some studies show that spearmint might help lower androgen levels and make the symptoms of hormonal conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) better.
Memory Improvement: Early research suggests that spearmint is good for your brain, improving your memory and focus.
Oral Health: The natural antibacterial properties of spearmint can help you keep your teeth and gums healthy by killing bacteria in your mouth that can cause bad breath and other dental problems.
Stress Relief: Spearmint might help with stress and anxiety. Its natural compounds, which make the body feel calm, have been shown to lower stress levels.
Skin Health: Spearmint's anti-inflammatory properties can also help skin health by soothing irritation and getting rid of acne when applied to the skin or drunk as a tea.
It is important to remember that even though these benefits suggest spearmint may be good for you, it shouldn't be used instead of medical care. More scientific research is needed to understand exactly how it works.
Spearmint tea can be drunk hot or cold, making it a good choice for any season. As the spearmint plant grows well in many different conditions, it's ideal to grow it at home and enjoy the fresh spearmint leaves too.

Love this tea!
I've been buying this spearmint tea for about 4 years from Jenier, and it's always my fave! It's incredible quality and much better value than anywhere else. It's popular at work too: I've changed jobs twice in that time and been a hit with the tea lovers in every team :)
