Classic Moroccan Mint is a loose tea blend of spearmint leaves and gunpowder green tea from China. Adding spearmint to the small, pinhead-sized gunpowder green tea really brings out the flavour, giving the resultant brew good body and a refreshing minty taste. The traditional way of enjoying this classic Moroccan tea is to add a little sweetener of your choice once brewed.
History Of Moroccan Mint Green Tea
Moroccan Mint green tea is a traditional tea that's been enjoyed in Morocco for centuries. A blend of green tea leaves and fresh mint leaves, it is typically served hot and sweetened with sugar. The origins of this traditional drink can be traced back to the 12th century, when tea was first introduced to Morocco by traders from China. However, in the 18th century, the addition of mint became a widespread practice. It is believed that the mint was added to help aid digestion and counteract the tea's bitterness.
The flavour profile of Moroccan Mint green tea is refreshing and invigorating, with a strong mint aroma and a slightly sweet taste. The green tea provides a subtle earthy flavour, while the mint adds a cool and refreshing sensation to the palate.
Moroccan Mint tea is often a symbol of hospitality in Morocco and is traditionally poured from a height to create a frothy foam. Serving small snacks or sweets alongside the tea is common, such as nuts or dates.

Delicious Moroccan Mint
I was really surprised how smooth this Moroccan mint tea was. I'd tried the black tea version before and that was nice, but this for me was far better. I didn't need to add any sugar - definitely will be back for more!
