Lemon Balm actually has very little to do with lemons apart from its aroma that offers a hint of lemon. Strangely enough it is in fact a member of the mint family native to Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. Whilst historically lemon balm tea leaves have been enjoyed as a herbal infusion on their own, they make a great blending ingredient and will add herbaceous lemon notes and a slight dryness.
