We source our loose Raspberry Tea from Lublin, Poland, where over 84% of all raspberries grown in Poland are harvested. Raspberry leaves thrive in Lublin's climate and nutrient-filled soils, contributing to the high quality of the infused tea. Our raspberry leaves are plucked during the summer before the berries open and when the flavinoid content is high. Processed in a similar way to tea, the leaves are caffeine-free with an almost neutral flavour and a slightly, grassy character.

Nutrition

Raspberry Leaves are naturally rich in vitamins C and E and minerals magnesium and potassium. These nutrients can support the immune system and contribute to overall health. One traditional use of raspberry leaves as a herbal remedy has been during the latter stages of pregnancy, as it is believed to assist with toning the uterus muscles to make contractions stronger and speed up the later stages of labour for pregnant women. However, a recent publication has reviewed thirteen studies to determine if this is true. You can read more about their findings on the side effects, health benefits, and which weeks of pregnancy are safe when drinking raspberry leaf tea in our blog post on the Tea Hub: How Does Raspberry Leaf Tea Work In Pregnancy?

Taste

Raspberry leaves are known for their neutral and slightly herbal taste. Its hint of sweetness and earthy flavour make it a pleasant, caffeine-free herbal drink. For brewing, use freshly boiled, filtered water and steep the leaves for 6–8 minutes, with a general guideline of 1-2 teaspoons per cup of water. Blend raspberry leaves with other herbs like camomile, peppermint, or lemon balm to enjoy different flavours, or if you'd prefer to make a comforting, herbal drink, try this recipe for a Raspberry Latte:

Raspberry Latte Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup water
2 tablespoons (or more, according to taste) loose-leaf raspberry leaves
½ cup milk of choice (dairy or plant-based, like almond, oat, or coconut milk)
Honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
A dash of cinnamon or vanilla extract (optional for extra flavour)

Instructions:

Brew the Tea:
Boil 1 cup of water in a small pot or a kettle.
Once boiling, remove from heat and add your loose-leaf raspberry. If you have a tea infuser or a teapot with an infuser, use that to make straining easier.
Allow the tea to steep for about 10-15 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the tea flavour, which is desirable in a latte.
Warm and Froth the Milk:
While the tea is steeping, heat your milk gently in a small saucepan over low heat. Do not allow the milk to boil to keep a smooth texture.
Once the milk is warm, use a milk frother to froth it until it's light and foamy. If you do not have a frother, you can vigorously whisk the milk or shake it in a tightly sealed jar.
Make the Latte:
Strain the raspberry leaf tea into a large mug, removing all the leaves.
Sweeten the brewed tea with honey or maple syrup, and stir in a dash of cinnamon or a few drops of vanilla extract if desired.
Gently pour the frothed milk over the brewed raspberry leaf tea. For a layered effect, use the back of a spoon to ease the milk into the tea.
Garnish and serve:
Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top for extra warmth and visual appeal.
Enjoy your Raspberry Leaf Tea Latte immediately, savouring the subtle herbal notes and creamy texture.
This raspberry latte offers a comforting, warming drink perfect for relaxation. Its unique blend of flavours makes it a fantastic alternative to traditional caffeinated lattes, suitable for any time of the day.
