Positioned as a luxury upgrade from standard high-volume catering powders, our Japanese Premium Green Tea Matcha presents an exceptional middle ground between purely ceremonial tea and everyday commercial menu utility. This wholesale blend marries shade-grown Gyokuro leaves with robust Sencha, sourced directly from the celebrated Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan and Kenya’s Nandi Highlands. The resulting flavour profile is defined by a thick, 'jammy-like' smoothness and a crisp, distinctly light, astringent finish—offering a much more delicate and refined cup than heavily weighted barista grades.

This premium inventory asset is specifically formulated for hospitality operators aiming to command a higher retail margin through a superior beverage experience. The inclusion of shade-grown Gyokuro ensures exceptionally high chlorophyll levels, promising a brilliant, vibrant green liquor that instantly signals quality. Whether utilised for top-tier wellness shakes, speciality iced lattes, or premium food service applications, this versatile matcha guarantees outstanding provenance, impressive stock yield, and a sophisticated flavour profile that seamlessly sets your beverage menu apart.

    Green Tea Matcha

Posted by Fran Brown on Jul 12, 2024

I'd been introduced to matcha by a friend so thought I'd try myself. Very pleased with the airtight tub the matcha powder came in - really easy to use and store. Will last me a while! Made just with milk as a latte so far - very smooth taste.

  Tea Facts

  • Ingredients: 100% Premium Green Tea Matcha Powder.
  • Leaves: Fine matcha milled from luxury-grade green tea and high-chlorophyll Gyokuro leaves.
  • Latin/ Botanical Names: Camellia sinensis.
  • Grown: Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan & Nandi Highlands, Kenya.
  • Aroma: Light, fresh, and elegantly vegetal.
  • Infused Colour: Vibrant, opaque bright green.
  • Caffeine: Approximately 68mg per standard 250ml beverage.
  • Harmonisation Codes: <3Kg 0902100000 | >3Kg 0902200000

  Serving Guide

  • Tea Menu: Specialty Beverage Menus / Premium Lattes, High-End Wellness Shakes & Artisan Baking Applications.
  • Per Serving: Measure approximately 2g to 3g of powder per standard 12oz (340ml) commercial takeaway cup.
  • Water: Hydrate the powder utilising a small splash of hot water (strictly cooled to approx. 80°C to prevent scalding the delicate Gyokuro leaves).
  • Making Time: Whisk vigorously using a traditional bamboo whisk or commercial electric frother for 2 to 4 minutes until a smooth, visually vibrant paste forms.
  • To Serve: Ideal for commanding higher retail margins on hot or iced speciality lattes. Because of its naturally smooth, jammy profile and lighter astringency, this grade requires far less heavy sweetening than standard high-volume powders, pairing beautifully with high-quality dairy or professional oat-milk alternatives.

  Health Benefits

  • Cellular Cleansing & Detoxification: Due to the deliberate shading of Gyokuro leaves during growth, this matcha is remarkably rich in chlorophyll and potent catechins. Regular consumption is scientifically documented in metabolic studies to support hepatic function and facilitate natural cellular cleansing by reducing systemic oxidative stress.[1]
  • Sustained Cognitive Focus: The natural presence of L-theanine works synergistically with the powdered caffeine content to provide a stable, prolonged state of mental alertness. Clinical trials show this exact combination provides sustained cognitive performance without the rapid energy crash often associated with high-volume coffee consumption.[2]
  • Maximum Antioxidant Delivery: Because the end-user ingests the entire milled leaf rather than a standard water infusion, this premium matcha yields an exceptionally high volume of antioxidants—specifically Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). This compound actively neutralises cellular free radicals, making it a powerful addition to health-focused commercial menus.[3]
