We chose teas from six estates across three growing regions to create the Balmoral Blend, inspired by some of Scotland's historic tea pioneers (Robert Bruce, James Taylor and Robert Fortune).
The blend balances robust teas from Assam with the briskness of high-grown leaf from Sri Lanka and smooth Keemun leaf from China, providing a wonderfully rich and refreshing cup of tea.
How was the Balmoral Tea Blend made?
In June 2019, the team at Balmoral Estate asked Jenier if we could create a new, unique black tea blend. The tea would be served and sold to visitors throughout the Balmoral Estate. We were delighted to be given such an opportunity and worked to find the perfect blend for them.
The final result for The Balmoral Blend includes six Estate Black Teas from three growing regions. When creating the blend, it was essential to the Balmoral team that the tea reflected Scotland's influence on the commercialisation of tea. As such, we took inspiration from Scotland's historic tea pioneers (Robert Bruce, James Taylor and Robert Fortune).
