Rooibos Herbal Tea
Rooibos, pronounced 'roy-buhs,' isn't tea, but it has the term 'tea' affixed to it to indicate a hot beverage that isn't coffee! Rooibos, a caffeine-free tea, is grown in South Africa's Cederberg mountain range. You may also know Rooibos as 'Redbush,' which can be confusing because the plant (or bush) from which Rooibos is derived (Aspalathus Linearis) is green until the leaves oxidise and turn their characteristic red colour.
Rooibos is a fantastic herbal tea with real depth, similar to black tea. Many people drink Rooibos in the same way, with a dash of milk and a sweetener like honey or sugar. We recommend trying it on its own first, as good quality Rooibos has a wonderful flavour.
